The film · Cartmel Racecourse

How do you bring Wi-Fi to a racecourse?

People move. The network has to keep up. Watch the people behind Cartmel's race-day Wi-Fi project explain what that means on the ground.

3 minutes 15 seconds · English captions. Poster artwork is illustrative; the film shows the real project.

Behind the scenes

One racecourse. Many places to connect.

Visitors move between the paddock, rails, buildings and open ground. The film follows the people who brought public Wi-Fi to those spaces, from the venue team to Phone Guys and its technology partners.

It shows a managed network of routers, switches and access points, including outdoor directional Wi-Fi 6 access points in difficult areas. Remote management gives the support team a way to monitor the network after installation.
